The O2 arena and indigO2 are set to redefine Britain's entertainment industry in the UK. Utterly luxurious and technologically unrivalled, both venues are a world away from anything the audience or the performers themselves will have ever experienced in the UK. So, for promoters - looking to wholly satisfy the needs of the fans and their acts - The O2 is the ultimate destination.
The O2 arena
This stunning 20,000 capacity venue is already attracting the most sought after names in music (Justin Timberlake, Prince, The Rolling Stones and Take That to name just a few), and really does sound and feel as good as it looks. The entire roof, upper walls, balcony fronts and seats have been treated to absorb sound and minimise any echo or unwanted audio reflections, sight-lines are perfect from all angles, the seats are unbelievably comfortable (with more escalators than in any other arena in Europe to get to them) and the concourses are wide and easy to navigate. The same meticulous attention to detail has also been applied backstage.
Direct accessibility. There is a loading facility right next to the arena with under cover storage for large trucks or buses in the service yard. Plus; easy and fast access to the catering facilities for all crew.
VIP access. There is a special VIP entry and exit which can be used for artist arrival and departure from the venue.
Up to 26 dressing rooms. This includes 14 spacious ensuites and 4 sports style locker rooms.
Great media facilities. The on-site media centre for TV and radio means no crews will take up valuable dressing room space. For filming all events there is a High Definition recording facility and patch media panels ensuring short cable runs.
With The O2 arena handling the larger scale productions we also wanted to create a venue where the feel was much more intimate. indigo2 has a 2,350-person capacity with a flexible public space at ground floor level; a deluxe premium seating area on the first floor with a lounge and dining area immediately adjacent, plus further great seats on the second floor. Here we will welcome a diverse range of performers who prefer a more up close and personal experience with their fans. Jools Holland, Timbaland, Joss Stone, Natalie Cole and DJ Shadow take the stage in the first few months of opening.
Perfect acoustics and top-of-the-range JBL sound system plus comprehensive, plus intelligent moving Vari-Lite lighting with follow spots.
"7 second pint" fast-pour technology at both of the large bars, quality air conditioning and more toilets per audience member than any other venue of comparable size.
200 seats on the first floor with cabaret style table service, plus a separate VIP lounge that can be hired for corporate hospitality or after show parties.
4 spacious dressing rooms (3 VIP with ensuite facilities), large production office, lounge, kitchen, wireless technology and easy access loading bay.
