Four Tet (+ Sunburned Hand Of The Man + James Holden + Fairmont (Live) + Kode 9)

Pioneering promoters Eat Your Own Ears (EYOE) have collaborated with indigO2 to bring a series of shows from 22 exciting genre defying artists.

Already the EYOE April residency at the indigO2 is causing a stir with the line-up boasting: the prolific British MC Lethal Bizzle; lo tech modern electronic dance act Holy Fuck, Hip-hop legend RZA from the Wu Tang Clan and the first UK performance from elegant pop songwriting disco maestro Kelley Polar.

Eat Your Own Ears promoter Tom Baker said “It’s a diverse and cutting edge line-up, with some of the artists performing in London for the first time. It’s really exciting to get all of these artists to take part in this series at the indigO2."

Eat Your Own Ears is renowned for recognising new and emerging talent before they become household names, founding the careers of artists such as Danger Mouse (aka Gnarls Barkley), Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs and Mercury Award winning artists Franz Ferdinand. EYOE have a full grasp on the music industry, covering musical enterprises from across the globe.

Each night will be a mash up of polar musical genres, pushing the boundaries of a conventional night of live music. With two more nights yet to be announced this is sure to be the most innovative week of live music in 2008!

Sunburned Hand of the Man formed in Massachusetts 1997 from the remnants of the Boston psychedelic punk trio Shit Spangled Banner. Sunburned Hand of the Man has an amorphous lineup, with composition and instrumentation potentially varying from gig to gig. They release records on the Eclipse Records label, as well as a number of smaller labels, and produce a great number of limited edition albums on CD-R via their own Manhand label. Many regard Sunburned Hand of the Man as contributors to the New Weird America folk revival.

Sunburned Hand of the Man mix free jazz funk jam sessions with 70s boogie guitar playing creating a very lively, psychedelic sound... the drumkit is given a workout as a scorching guitar creates a thick wall of sound. As always, the success of this tangent only inspires the band to go off on another, as the guitarist moves to more back-and-forth groove as the band loses energy, slowing down the beat, the sound fading to the crackling of a campfire...

Fairmont is techno producer Jake Fairley of Toronto, Canada. Fairmont is his softer, more melodic house project. He has released singles through Border Community and Traum Schallplatten amongst others. He is also well known for his live performances.

Fairmont manages to combine forward thinking techno with the vitality of the best modern pop. from early releases on traum, echochord, kompakt and dumb, Fairmont's understated techno enjoyed a loyal following and critical acclaim amongst the cognoscenti. Stretching minimal techno into the pop format rather than the experimental Fairmont is destined to be regarded as one of the most impressive Border Community acts to date.

Kode 9 The man behind Hyperdub, the label which released Burial's debut, is longtime dj and producer Kode 9. With sounds pared down to the ultra-minimal, Kode 9 is at the forefront of dubstep and bass poetry.
