Eat Your Own Ears Series presents

Junior Boys (+ Metronomy + Morgan Geist + Kelley Polar (live) + PrinzHorn Dance School)

Pioneering promoters Eat Your Own Ears (EYOE) have collaborated with indigO2 to bring a series of shows from 22 exciting genre defying artists.

Already the EYOE April residency at the indigO2 is causing a stir with the line-up boasting: the prolific British MC Lethal Bizzle; lo tech modern electronic dance act Holy Fuck, Hip-hop legend RZA from the Wu Tang Clan and the first UK performance from elegant pop songwriting disco maestro Kelley Polar.

Eat Your Own Ears promoter Tom Baker said “It’s a diverse and cutting edge line-up, with some of the artists performing in London for the first time. It’s really exciting to get all of these artists to take part in this series at the indigO2."

Eat Your Own Ears is renowned for recognising new and emerging talent before they become household names, founding the careers of artists such as Danger Mouse (aka Gnarls Barkley), Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs and Mercury Award winning artists Franz Ferdinand. EYOE have a full grasp on the music industry, covering musical enterprises from across the globe.

Each night will be a mash up of polar musical genres, pushing the boundaries of a conventional night of live music. With two more nights yet to be announced this is sure to be the most innovative week of live music in 2008!

Junior Boys defy any easy equation of pop or dance, joining a long tradition of sonically rich pop that unites emotionally charged songcraft with experimental genres eg – New Order, Beach Boys. They break new ground for electro-pop, blending heartfelt vocals with a production style that owes a debt to artists as varied as Timbaland, Todd Edwards, Fennesz and the Basic Channel school. In short, it reflects early 80s pop history back through the styles of contemporary dance

Morgan Geist Staple of leftfield dance music, Morgan Geist is the highly-regarded remixer and producer both solo and as half of Metro Area. Geist has lent his touch to a wide range of artists including Hugh Masekela, Telex, Erlend Øye and was responsible for the amazingly popular remix of The Rapture's "House of Jealous Lovers."

Kelly Polar, beautiful and personal songs from and for the heart and mind - a perfect amalgam of elegant pop songwriting, disco boogie beats and electronic glitches. Influences range from Brahms to the Beach Boys, Space Disco to early Stevie Wonder, with flutters of Gil Scott-Heron and Kraftwerk, Bedouin Soundclash and Ultravox.

Prinzhorn Dance School Signed to DFA, this three-piece's boy-girl harmonies and stripped back instrumentation are in the vein of The Kills and Ravonettes, producing starkly precise songs.
