Streetvibes Youth, the youth music production, promotion and development company, have confirmed Lyrical Xpressions III, a youth music showcase, and seminar that will bring the best in UK and youth urban music talent to indigO2 from 3pm-9pm on Tuesday 25th August.
Lyrical Xpressions III will bring together talented young people, top music industry speakers, upcoming recording artists, street dancers and performers in a five hour live showcase, urban awards ceremony and educational seminar.
Lyrical Xpressions III will feature speaking sessions from music industry leaders; performances from the UK's freshest music talent alongside an awards ceremony recognising the commitment and progress of the young people participating in StreetVibes Youth's ground-breaking music educational programmes. Confirmed acts participating include urban music sensation Ghetts, UK dance music pioneer Donae'o, soul sensation Ny, Channel 4 / T4's Mz Bratt, live comedy by Kevin J and a fashion show by street label Ardwear, with many acts donating their time and expertise in support of the event.
Lyrical Xpressions III is StreetVibes Youth's third youth music showcase and seminar and aims to provide a positive, professional and prestigious environment for young people to showcase their creative talents to their peers and the wider music industry. It also provides an opportunity for young people to learn from professionals within the industry and to explore employment routes into music, dance and business.
The showcase is the culmination of a year-long programme of music training, education and skills development. The event is co-organised, promoted and hosted by the young people themselves, providing real-life creative industry and event management experience.
"Lyrical Xpressions III aims to bring the music industry together to celebrate diversity, creativity and, most importantly, to celebrate the driving force behind the industry - young people," said Orlando Clement, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder at StreetVibes Youth. "We were overwhelmed by the support we have received from the music industry, from our sponsors, and from the young people we work with. StreetVibes Youth aims to provide postive opportunities, education and experiences for young people who are disengaging with school or are at risk of getting involved with anti-social behaviour or criminal activity, and we reach over 600 young people each year. Giving them an opportunity to perform alongside the cream of the urban music industry will be an inspiring experience for them."
