Since day one, Martina McBride has carved out her niche as a woman people can relate to. Women see themselves in her and many find inspiration in her songs. Powerful. Strong. Positive. Many might use those words to describe the four-time CMA Female Vocalist and multi-platinum-selling artist. These descriptions are also used to define the word Shine – fittingly, the name of McBride's tenth studio album, set for release on 24 March on RCA Records.
"I'm so excited about this music and this time in my life," says McBride. "Creatively I have a renewed energy and I feel like this album reflects that."
Rewinding to a year ago, McBride was in the middle of her major headlining arena and amphitheatre tour, an endeavor that would take her coast-to-coast in support of her self-produced CD Waking Up Laughing (the record that gave way to mega-hit "Anyway" and Grammy-nominated "For These Times.") For some, this might not be the time to take on a new creative pursuit - but for McBride there couldn"t have been a better time.
