Soul legend Mica Paris’ monthly residency
May shows start at 7pm
Sensational UK soul singer Mica Paris has announced a new monthly residency at indigO2, starting on 11th May with guest performances from some of the best names in Soul, Gospel, Jazz and R&B.
Mica began a residency at Ronnie Scotts in early 2007, but quickly outgrew the jazz venue and is now taking centre stage at indigO2 to continue her sell-out success. Having secured her place in music history with the highly acclaimed debut album ‘So Good’ in 1987, Mica is still regarded by many as one of the finest female vocalists in the UK.
Mica’s dulcet tones are recognised worldwide and she has dueted with some of music’s most iconic figures including Natalie Cole, Jools Holland, Boy George and Prince. Producers and musicians across the globe have always been keen to collaborate with Mica and one of the first people to recognise her amazing talent was Prince, who wrote her single ‘If I love U 2 Nite’ for the 1990 album ‘Contribution’.
Mica began her career as a Gospel singer with the highly regarded Spirit of Watts gospel group before being signed to Island Records at the age of seventeen. Since then, she has achieved worldwide chart success, hosted BBC Radio 2’s acclaimed ‘Soul Solutions’ and most recently, co-presented BBC1’s ‘What Not To Wear’. Music has always been her passion though, and she is heading back to her roots for this special residency at indigO2.
