A Gala Evening with The Drifters & very special guests in aid of MildMay’s 20th Anniversary
A superb line-up of some of the biggest selling artists of all time, to raise money for MildMay Hospital in London, which this year marks its 20th anniversary in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Tonight’s intimate show features The Drifters, who are this year celebrating their 55th anniversary. As one of the biggest selling bands of all time, The Drifters have collated a huge catalogue of over 50 hits, selling more than 214 million singles and 114 million albums worldwide. Tonight, here at the indigO2, The Drifters will launch their charity single ‘Sacrifice’, with the kind permission of Sir Elton John, which will help make up to half a million pounds for MildMay.
Since their creation, the line up of The Drifters has undergone many changes with more than 55 different singers, including icons such as Clyde McPhatter, Ben E King, Charlie Thomas, Rudy Lewis and Johnny Moore. The Drifters will perform timeless classics such as ‘Saturday Night at the Movies’, ‘Under The Boardwalk,’ ‘Come On Over To My Place,’ and ‘Kissing In The Back Row of the Movies,’ as well as a whole host of new material from the stunning new album ‘Five Decades and Moore’.
