The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to The O2 arena June 2008 when welterweight legend Matt Hughes began his quest for an unprecedented third 170-pound UFC crown when he battled Brazilian banger Thiago "Pitbull" Alves in the main event of UFC 85. Also on the card, which stacked 11 high-impact bouts into one unforgettable night, is a middleweight showdown between UK superstar Michael "The Count" Bisping and Jason Day. Other key fights included Brandon Vera v Fabricio Werdum, Marcus Davis v Mike Swick, Nate Marquardt v Thales Leites, Luiz Cane v Jason Lambert and Neil Wane v Antoni Hardonk.
