National Television Awards 2018 Live at The O2
The National Television Awards, or NTAs, celebrate their 23rd year as Britain’s leading awards show – featuring the nation’s most popular TV stars plus exclusive live music and special guest performances. A champion of ‘viewer power’, the National TV Awards is unique because it’s the only TV ceremony where all of the winners are chosen exclusively by the public, via a huge nationwide poll. An NTA is TV’s most coveted award and last year nearly 7 million votes were cast. The results are revealed live at the NTAs in January and the event is always spectacular.
National TV Awards History
The NTAs have come a long way since Eamonn Holmes first presented it in 1995. Of course, most people will remember Trevor McDonald hosting the ceremony until 2008, but since 2010 the charismatic and extremely likeable Dermot O’Leary has presented the National TV Awards – the same year The O2 first hosted the awards. The 2017 NTAs saw the reality TV star Scarlett Moffatt make her first TV presenting role alongside O’Leary, and she is due to return for the 2018 TV awards ceremony.
