Public Enemy to Play only London Headline Show, with a live band, - Indigo at The O2.
Few artists or bands in history have impacted not only a genre, but culture in general. Public Enemy are one such band, they are a force which has transcended music into popular culture, and social consciousness. Formed on Long Island in 1982, Public Enemy are inductees to the Rock & Roll hall of fame - only the 4th Hip Hop group to achieve this - their politically charged music striking a chord with a disenchanted youth throughout the 1980’s.
Public Enemy released their debut album ‘Yo! Bumrush The Show’ on Def Jam in 1987 to massive critical acclaim, among it’s many accolades, the album has since gone on to feature in the Rolling Stone Top 500 Albums Ever. The band saw continued success with following albums It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, Fear Of A Black Planet and Apocalypse ’91…. The Enemy Strikes Black. In 2005, their most successful album Fear Of A Black Planet was selected for preservation in the US Library of Congress - the oldest research Library in the United States. Public Enemy have, and continue to play a huge part in the history of worldwide music culture.
With a busy touring schedule we are hugely excited to welcome Public Enemy, with their live band to Indigo at The O2 on June 16th.
This is scheduled to be their only London headline show in 2016 and is not to be missed!
