Braehmar pulls out of clash with Cleverly

Frank Warren today announced that WBO Light Heavyweight World Champion Jurgen Braehmar has withdrawn from his fight with Nathan Cleverly.

Braehmar has a history of late withdrawals from fights, having done so from his last scheduled defence against Beibut Shumenov.

Frank Warren has stressed that the show at The O2 will still go ahead as planned, and a replacement opponent will be announced shortly.

"I am obviously disappointed that Braehmar has pulled out, especially as I was so convinced that Nathan was going to take his World Title off him in the ring," said Warren. "Unfortunately, this will now not be possible as Braehmar has withdrawn from the fight. We are still waiting for the reason for him doing so."

Frank also confirmed that he has put in an application to the WBO to make Nathan the full Champion. "Under the rules set out by the WBO, Nathan should be made full Champion and will make the first defence of his title at The O2 this coming Saturday. We have got a fantastic show for the fans, and Nathan is still fully focused on proving that he is the best Light-Heavyweight in the World."
