But there are few with the track record of City Showcase." - MetroCity Showcase, the live music event that takes over the capital between 5 - 9 May 2010, is thrilled to announce another massive addition to its festival portfolio - City Showcase: Rocklands - to be hosted in London's established arts and music quarter, South East London. Master Shortie, Man Like Me, Lady Lykez, Officer Kicks, Donaeo, The Morning Orchestra, Stereo Decade, Ten City Nation, Panama Kings, Scott Raba & The Ace, Conil, The Glitches, Robot Disaster, Nacional, Shiva, Model Society, KOF, Monsters In The Attic, Anita Maj, Dexy, are among the first artists confirmed to play City Showcase Rockland's 2010. City Showcase: Rocklands sees a collaboration between participating venues, including the British Music Experience at The O2; Amersham Arms; Old Police Station and The Bunker, along with major retail outlets, coming together to promote this massive music and arts festival. Headlining at the British Music Experience at The O2 on 8th May is Master Shortie with Lady Lykez, Scott Raba & The Ace, Donaeo, The Morning Orchestra, KOF, The Tutts and many more yet be announced. City Showcase: Rocklands will take place on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 May 2010, with a voting campaign to put the favourite performances on stage at The O2 on Saturday 8 May, when The O2 becomes the heart of City Showcase: Rocklands. The O2 will host a day of music and dance with a rolling programme of talented new musicians. Events will take place at the British Music Experience, the permanent high-tech interactive music museum at The O2, whose stage has hosted Bon Jovi, Jamie Cullum and Jeff Beck among others. Participating restaurants and stores at The O2 include Gaucho, Union Square, The O2 Store, Slug & Lettuce, S&M, Frankie & Benny's, Las Iguanas, Thai Silk, Spur, Water Margin and the Ha Ha Bar. Now in its 9th year, City Showcase has enjoyed major success in music innovation and collaboration - discovering and showcasing many UK and International acts, such as Keane, Razorlight, N-Dubz, Sway and Amy Winehouse. 2010 promises to be the best yet and the search for the next wave of credible and emerging new talent is on! All types of music are included from electro to pop, rock to urban and performers from bands to singer songwriters and solo artists to DJ's. City Showcase provides public exposure, advice, mentoring, crucial contacts, plus the opportunity to perform in West End retail stores and legendary venues. Additionally it hosts a series of workshops and seminars at The Apple Store, bringing aspiring talent together with the most influential figures in what is a much reshaped and refreshingly vibrant new music industry.
