Join The O2 in supporting WWF
Join The O2 in supporting WWF’s Earth Hour - Don’t be left in the light – join us in the dark!On Saturday 27th March 2010 at 8.30pm, The O2, along with 27 other AEG venues across the world will be taking part in Earth Hour, sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund. The O2 will turn off all non-essential roof lights for one hour, joining tens of millions of people and companies in the dark as part of an international call to action to save our planet. Earth Hour is a global effort to raise awareness about sustainability and the power each individual has to make a difference to our environment. More than a billion people across more than 80 countries will turn off their lights and come together to discuss these important issues. AEG has partnered with WWF as a global host, and The O2 is pleased to be involved. Peter Gabriel’s concert at The O2 arena will be in full swing during Earth Hour – screens within the arena will carry the WWF message, and everyone who has bought a ticket will be contacted to make them aware of the event’s significance. Rosa D’Alessandro, The O2’s Head of Corporate Responsibility, said “The O2 is a landmark building with great sustainability credentials including the energy saving lighting scheme on the roof. We are delighted to be able to raise awareness of WWF’s Earth Hour with our many guests.” Did you know how green we are at The O2? Here are a few key facts:
