Elvis sings lead vocals, as his songs and arrangements are played live by 21 musicians including some of his original band mates, backing vocalists and full orchestra. During Elvis Week 2007 this production was performed as the 30th Anniversary Concert at the Fedex Arena in Elvis' home city, Memphis, Tennessee - and was the High Point of the annual festival. For this very special event previously un-seen video footage was edited into the show and it was updated, adding several new songs. It was announced to the audience on 16 August 2007 at the 30th Anniversary Concert commemorating the death of Elvis was to be the last ever performance of this: Multimedia Event of a life time - Elvis Live... Elvis Presley in Concert, the production that reunites Elvis' former band mates live on stage with a video-projected Elvis, will tour Europe in February and March of 2010, it was announced today. After multiple, sold-out concert tours and a hiatus of nearly two years, worldwide public demand is at an all-time high for this Elvis concert experience. This latest tour will include engagements UK dates that will be on general sale on 24 April. "Elvis Presley in Concert" is a production of SEG Events, in association with Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. (EPE). It is produced by Stig Edgren of SEG Events. Performers currently scheduled to participate include: Joe Guercio, Elvis' orchestra conductor for many of his Vegas performances; members of the original TCB Band; Elvis' backup singers The Imperials and The Sweet Inspirations. The show's concept is to present an authentic Elvis Presley concert. The producers have edited together a collection of Elvis' finest concert performances that exist on film and video and removed all sound from the footage except for Elvis' vocal track. The Elvis footage is projected on state-of-the-art video screens. On stage, singers and a 16-piece orchestra perform live in sync with Elvis on video. All music heard in the concert production is performed live. Elvis concert footage for the show comes primarily from the MGM concert films Elvis, That's The Way It Is (1970) and Elvis on Tour (1972); outtakes from these two films as seen in the video package entitled Elvis, The Lost Performances; and the historic 1973 global television special Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii, via Satellite. This footage contains some of Elvis' finest performances from the concert era of his career. The Greatest Entertainer of the 20th Century is coming...
