Snow Patrol Hit The O2

On 28th June one of the UK’s biggest bands, Snow Patrol, are set to appear at The O2, Europe’s ultimate entertainment venue. It will be their only UK headline show for the rest of the year. It’s been an amazing few years for Snow Patrol who formed when they were students at Dundee University. After some local success the band burst onto the music scene with their unforgettable anthem of love and longing ‘Run’, released as a single in 2004. It reached number 5 in the UK single charts – propelling their album ‘Final Straw’ to number 3 in the UK album charts. Critical acclaim and an Ivor Novello award for best album followed in 2005, with sales going up to a massive 2 million. The band returned in 2006 with another masterpiece album, ‘Eyes Open’. Recorded during a hectic period ‘Eyes Open’ is the work of a band who have scaled the heights, supporting U2 throughout Europe appearing at Live 8 in both Hyde Park and Scotland while managing to stay true to their core values; beautiful, powerful songs. The album went on to reach number 1 in four countries, selling over 2 million copies and cemented them a place amongst music’s elite.
