Westlife 'Back Home' Tour 2008

Today Westlife announced they are to play The O2 on March 1st as the London date in their ‘Back Home Tour 2008’. Having spent the summer of 2007 in the sheltered confines of a recording studio, pop royalty Westlife are pleased to announce their return to arenas across the country, with tickets going on sale at 9am this Friday October 19th. The O2 website members will be able to take advantage of a pre sale for tickets from 9am on Thursday October 18th. Promising evenings of seamless pop precision, the show will travel across the UK in February and March, showcase tracks from their new album, ‘Back Home’ (released on November 5th) the boys will also perform their biggest hits and favourite album tracks from their vast catalogue. No modern band can compare to Westlife’s extraordinary success. In their nine years aboard the pop express they have sold over 36 million records globally and been awarded twenty eight platinum discs. In the UK alone they have scored eight multi-platinum albums and a record breaking 14 number one hits (behind only Elvis and The Beatles). The band has also picked up innumerable awards and appeared on hundreds of magazine covers around the world. They are the only recording artists to win the prestigious ‘Record Of The Year’ a staggering four times (other top awards include two BRITS and an MTV Europe Award).
