The Zombies

See the legendary British Rock band The Zombies perform here on 1 June 2013!

In a recent Top 100 British Albums chart featured by New Musical Express, Odessey & Oracle was placed at Number 32, with the accompanying comment: “…British psychedelia with a kaleidoscopic vision that rivals even The Beatles.”

“Time Of The Season,” from the album, is annually featured in the advertising campaign for Magners Ciders (popular Irish cider) bringing The Zombies to a new generation. “Time Of The Season” also reached 5 million plays here in the US at the end of last year - one of only a handful of UK records to make that milestone. The song is also featured on a major advert in Japan for Nissan and both “She’s Not There” and “Time of the Season” were included in a recent episode of the smash hit show, ‘American Idol.’

The Zombies are cited by the mercurial Courtney Love; and as influences by Badly Drawn Boy, Paul Weller, Super Furry Animals, Magic Numbers, Billy Joel, She & Him, and the Arctic Monkeys, among others. Recorded for their Golddiggers album, The Beautiful South released their version of  “This Will Be Our Year” as a single.  The Zombies’ songs are regularly covered live by such varied artists as Beck and Belle & Sebastian, and used in films and TV shows (‘Dear Wendy,’ ‘Awakenings,’ ‘Kill Bill 2’ and ‘The Simpsons,’ among others) – evidence that their music really is as fresh and relevant today as it ever was.

Universal Music (UK) released a new compilation, The Zombies & Beyond in 2008 containing all the cream Zombies original tracks (“She’s Not There,” “Time Of The Season”), plus solo recordings released post-Zombies from Colin Blunstone (“Say You Don’t Mind,” “I Don’t Believe In Miracles,” “What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted”) and Argent (“Hold Your Head Up,” “God Gave Rock ‘N Roll To You”).

The Zombies’ touring band features original members Colin Blunstone (lead vocals) and Rod Argent (keyboards & vocals), plus Jim Rodford (bass), Tom Toomey (guitar) and Steve Rodford (drums). They played live dates in the UK in 2009 and again in 2010, also touring that year in France, Spain, and the USA

The Zombies, helmed by founding members Rod Argent and singer Colin Blunstone, marked the group’s half century with a stunning new album – Breathe Out, Breathe In. Already released in the UK, it has received rave reviews.
