. Please ensure that all adults and helpers are aware of the following health and safety guidelines for your visit to The O2.
Supervision and behaviour
Teachers are responsible for the behaviour and general health and safety of their pupils. Any pupil whose behaviour adversely affects the safety or enjoyment of other visitors, or causes damage will be asked to leave, accompanied by their teacher. Teachers and accompanying adults should remain with their pupils at all times. For general visits we require a 1:10 ratio of adults to pupils.
Fire evacuation
An announcement over the public address system is used to alert all staff and visitors to an evacuation. All staff are trained in the evacuation process and will be on hand to direct visitors to the nearest fire exit and to the assembly point. Lifts should not be used. The O2 and all associated buildings are fully compliant with Fire Precautions Regulations.
First aid
During public opening hours there are trained first aiders available. There are fully equipped and accessible first aid rooms within close proximity of all venues within The O2.
A first aider attending an incident will complete an Accident and First Aid Report detailing the circumstances and any injuries sustained.
For first aid treatment whilst you are in The O2 you should ask any member of staff.
The nearest Accident & Emergency Department is at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Tel. 020 8836 6000).
Staff
As part of The O2 recruitment policy all staff are vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), which provides wider access to criminal record information.
Staff with greater responsibilities involving children within The O2 are vetted at an enhanced disclosure level.
Risk assessments and hazard identification
The O2's public areas have been designed and are maintained as safe places for all of our visiting public.
Exhibitions and activities are designed with full consideration of risk control measures. Assessments are completed for all new works and activities.
Hazards are identified in a daily monitoring programme. They are isolated or rectified immediately.
