Run to the Beat

Sunday 5th October 2008 - At The O2

Run to the Beat is a half marathon taking place throughout the London Borough of Greenwich. The event will start and finish at The O2. As well as being London's first half marathon, the second unique aspect of the event is that it will work with Dr Costas Karageorghis to scientifically position live music throughout the course to inspire the 10,000 runners taking part. Dr Karageorghis will analyse the runner's demographic and their tastes as well as using his existing scientific research to choose the right music for the competitors. That music will then be implemented with live acts, local London bands and musical talent.

The run will deliver motivational live music at strategic points along the route using a variety of talented artists and a network of hi-tech speaker systems. The event will have a genuine carnival atmosphere and will be hugely inspiring for competitors and spectators alike.
