Ross Halfin Photography Masterclass

Out of all the wonderful rock photographers Ross Halfin has probably had the most fun.

His cameras have shot definitive moments in the Punk era of the 70's including The Jam, The Clash, Adam Ant, The Sex Pistols and spent most of the 80's touring with bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica and Def Leppard.

Following his explosive success of his bestselling Keith Moon biography Dear Boy: The Life of Keith Moon, Tony Fletcher returns with his new book which explores the pivotal cultural history of the musical street scenes of New York from 1927 to 1977.

With intimate details and candid interviews with Ben E. King, Neil Sedaka, Janis Ian, Tommy Ramone, Jerry Wexler, Leiber and Stoller, Shadow Morton, John Sebastian, Chris Stein, Pete Seeger and Eddie Palmieri to name but a few.

Open Mic Night at the Museum

As part of the Museums at Night annual after-hours celebrations, for one night only, the British Music Experience will keep its doors open until 9pm for adults to have a play.

On Friday 14 May, you can take part in our Open Mic Jam Session and join our house band on their trip through musical history, playing select songs that span the decades, and take centre stage.

If you're not ready for your five minutes of fame, the Gibson Interactive Studio has instruments that only you can hear.
