Jamaica Summer

The sun will be shining all summer at The O2 as we play host to a slice of the Caribbean island nation of Jamaica.

This summer The O2 are having a celebration of Jamaican culture to mark 50 years of independence. The Jamaican extravaganza will include an exhibition charting the life and career of Jamaica's most famous son, Bob Marley, as well as performances from a multitude of legendary Jamaican singers, DJs, writers, comedians, actors and poets.

The O2 bubble

Jamaica House is the official country house for the Olympics and the Headquarters of the Jamaica Olympic Association. Starting on 3 August for 10 glorious days and nights, Jamaica House will be inviting visitors and Londoners to celebrate all things Jamaican.

To commemorate 50 years of Jamaican independence, take up this warm invitation to meet Jamaica at 50 - celebrate in Jamaica's our own inimitable style, all of their achievements over the past half-century.

Jamaica House 2012 will be a home away from home for Jamaican athletes and fans, but also offering visitors a unique insight into the history, culture, and way of life of this proud nation. It promises to be a once in a lifetime celebration, so get involved!

British Music Experience

Following a successful run at The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, where it was on display for over three months, this exhibition allows visitors to witness Bob Marley as a private, spiritual man; as a powerful performer who used his lyrics to give a voice to the disenfranchised; and as a legend who has inspired legions of fans in the years since his death.

Bringing together more than 40 diverse artifacts, rare photographs and more, the exhibit features items from the private collection of the Marley family. On display, visitors will see a broad array of items, including; Marley's famous Les Paul guitar, more than 50 photographs of Marley both on and off stage, rare ticket stubs, concert posters, tour books, fan memorabilia and exclusive interview footage.

This exhibition will celebrate the impact of Jamaican music and culture on our lives in Britain. We've all been touched by Jamaican culture and throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, the Jamaican community has consistently left its mark on the nation's musical output and tastes. Jamaican music has been at the heart of many musical and cultural movements and still resides at the core of what is nowadays called Bass Culture.
