SUMMARY:Benefit Concert In Memory of James Borrer:
DESCRIPTION:This Benefit is to celebrate the life of Jamer Borrer.James died of Bowel Cancer on 13th January 2026. He was ill for a few weeks having mistaken symptoms of bowel cancer for colitis. This is a common problem and happens often with tragic consequences. James leaves behind a wife, and two young daughters, Amelie and Seren.  James worked in music his whole life and this event is a celebration of the life in music. Public Service Broadcasting and BIG SPECIAL were two of his favourite artists. But of all the musical pursuits, he loved watching music in a live forum - from the Dublin castle to Wembley stadium - totally immersed in the unifying experience of music. Easy to spot, looking large bopping along and beaming with that huge grin of his.  He loved going away on day trips with the bands, to weekend metro music crawls and he absolutely loved being at a summer festival or any festival for that matter. With his bands and with his friends, unified in the music. So we decided to put on this festival in his memory. He would have loved it. All money raised will go to his family. The event is hosted in partnership with Bowel Cancer UK in the hope of raising awareness about the symptoms of bowel cancer. ‘1 in 17 men and 1 in 20 women will be diagnosed with bowel cancer during their lifetime.’‘More than 9 in 10 people survive bowel cancer if it is detected and treated at the earliest stage, compared to just 1 in 10 surviving when diagnosed at a later stage (stage 4).  Early detection dramatically improves survival rates
