The most wonderful time of the year: Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball
As usual, Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball brought an incredible line up to The O2, so it’s hard to pick just five of our favourite performances. From Swift’s comeback, to Big Shaq’s debut, it was an epic weekend… Honorable mentions go to Dua Lipa’s shower of confetti and Major Lazer’s closing spectacular.
Taylor made her return to our shores on Sunday; after a ten month hiatus and the release of a record-breaking new album, the crowd was well and truly ready to welcome her back. Performing new tracks as well as much loved hits, Swift provided one of the best performances of the weekend.
After riding around backstage on a tiny pink bike, (we get the joke Ed, but is this a risk you should be taking?) Ed serenaded the arena with a hit-packed set list. His performance of new single Photograph had everyone singing along.
Mabel’s first Jingle Bell Ball appearance will not be forgotten in a hurry. We last saw her here for the BBK Takeover in August, and now she’s closing the year with another great performance.
He’s a regular around these parts now, but we never get bored of Niall. Perhaps the most festively dressed of any performer, Niall looked as good as he sounded and was a particular highlight of Saturday night.
It’s one of the catchiest tunes of 2017, and to see it performed live in front of 16,000 people is quite something. Bringing the most energy to the stage, Big Shaq absolutely nailed his performance, even in the huge coat. Which he’s definitely not hot in.
