Event Details
Iconic British band Incognito have announced a huge homecoming London show at indigo at The O2, marking an incredible 40 years since their formation.
Formed in 1979 by Jean-Paul ‘Bluey’ Maunick and Paul ‘Tubbs’ William, Incognito are the flag-bearers for undiluted British Funk & Soul, with a little drop of Jazz thrown in for good measure.
Known for hits like ‘Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing’, ‘Always There’, and ‘Still A Friend of Mine’, their debut album, ‘Jazz Funk’ was released in 1981 to huge critical acclaim.
Their recordings for Gilles Peterson’s label Talkin’ Loud saw them become million-selling artists internationally, with remixes by David Morales and Roger Sanchez taking the group into the club scene too.
Bluey and Incognito have gone on to collaborate with the likes of George Benson, Chaka Khan, and Stevie Wonder, touring the world performing at some of the most prestigious venues on the globe.
Releasing their last album in 2016, ‘In Search of Better Days’, Incognito have proven the endurance of British Soul, Jazz & Funk, celebrating nearly half a century at the top, and no doubt they’ll be there for a long time thereafter.
