“The Lost Mirror” – a Musical Performance for Every Living Being from 6 to 96
A musical adventure following a hand mirror with a fragment of a star embedded in its handle. Escaping thieves and vagabonds, it converses with a Dressing Table and a Mermaid Professor, falls captive to a Diving Bird, and always finds itself in the most unexpected places. And, of course, the mirror is magical: it reflects joy and sorrow, despair and hope, rejection and love, helping its holders glimpse the fulfillment of their greatest and most impossible wishes – even a flight into outer space.
Throughout its journeys, the Mirror – and with it the audience – discover many new wonders about themselves and the world around them: a chocolate zoo, a sausage handbag, gardener kittens, and much more. And, most importantly, they learn a universal truth: you don’t have to be magical for something magical to happen to you.
The performance unfolds against a backdrop of video projections featuring illustrations by writer and artist Pavel Pepperstein, whose work inspired this production.
The music for The Lost Mirror was created by the band SBPCH. It includes material familiar from their audio fairy tale of the same name, as well as compositions written especially for the stage. All pieces will be performed live by the cast.
Cast: Alexander Gudkov, SBPCH (Kirill Ivanov, Evgeniya Borzykh, Stanislav Astakhov), Marina Vasilieva, Dominik Mara, Serafima Goschanskaya.
