Wow, Wow, Wow Wow! Kylie Makes History As The First Female To Join The O2 21 Club

Following four incredible nights of Kylie’s critically acclaimed ‘Tension Tour’ at The O2, the world’s most popular live entertainment, leisure and retail destination, Kylie has been inducted into the exclusive 21 Club. The pop-queen now holds the record for the most performances at the venue by a female solo artist with a total of 24 shows.

As the first female to join the club, Kylie is the eighth artist or performer to be presented with a bespoke ‘key to the venue’, which has been specially designed and engraved to mark her 21 shows at The O2. A replica of the key will be on permanent display backstage for all future performers to see on their walk to stage.

The 21 Club honours artists and performers who have played 21 or more dates at the venue, and was launched following Prince’s record-breaking 21 consecutive, sold-out shows at The O2 in 2007.

Kylie said: “The O2 21 Club! London…you know how much I love you already but THISSSS was special. To be the first female headliner to make the club and join PRINCE!!! Wowwwwwwww. THANK YOU.”

Emma Bownes, Senior Vice President of Venue Programming, AEG Europe added: “It’s a huge achievement to join the exclusive 21 Club at The O2, and we couldn’t be happier that Kylie has joined the club and is the first female to do so. She is a phenomenon, a true music icon, and we are beyond grateful that she has chosen to bring so many of her incredible tours to The O2 - we hope there are plenty more to come.”

Kylie joins only seven other artists or performers who have been inducted into the 21 Club, including: Michael Bublé, Take That, One Direction, Drake, Young Voices, Micky Flanagan, and Michael McIntyre.

Kylie was awarded the key from The O2 on the final night of her four-show run at the venue.
