Lo- Key? & Kelly Price Soul Explosion 2018
It’s here again, two of the 90’s biggest R&B acts come to the world-famous Indigo @ The O2 Arena. Lo-Key? (There first performance in the UK in over 15 years) and Kelly (Soul of A Woman) Price will take you on musical bliss.. Both artists, will be performing songs from their music catalogue, that will take you back to the 90’s when music was at its very best. Expect all the classics and much more!
Kelly Price was born in Queens, New York, and began singing in church as a toddler. Her first professional engagement was with George Michael at Madison Square Garden in January 1992. During rehearsals for the Grammy Awards Price was overheard singing in the rehearsal hall while everyone else was on a meal break by Mariah Carey, who was late. Price was later introduced to Carey's husband, Sony Columbia's then CEO Tommy Mottola. [1] She made a name for herself as a backing and guest vocalist, appearing on a number of hit singles such as Mariah Carey's "Fantasy", The Notorious B.I.G.'s "Mo Money Mo Problems", Mase's Feel So Good, and Whitney Houston's "Heartbreak Hotel". She has sung background vocals for Faith Evans, Aretha Franklin, Brian McKnight, SWV and R. Kelly.
Lo-Key? formed in Kansas City, Missouri and Minneapolis, Minnesota, consisting of singer/trumpeter Darron "D" Story, singer/multi-instrumentalist Andre "Dre" Shepard, bassist Tyrone "T-Bone" Yarbrough, and rapper/singer Tony "Prof-T" Tolbert. The group honed their skills around the Minneapolis club circuit, Tolbert became in-house producers for Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis' Flyte Tyme Productions. The group signed to Jam & Lewis' record label, Perspective Records, and released their debut album, Where Dey At?, on October 6, 1992. They had a hit with the single "I Got A Thang 4 Ya!" in 1992, which spent a week at No. 1
Kelly Price is the most important black singer to come since Aretha, she is going to be a huge star!!”
